Ellipsis (…) is used when we need to omit some
words/phrases/paragraphs from a quoted text.
Ex.:
Original Sentence: “Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad
people will find a way around the laws.”
(Plato)
After Using Ellipsis: “Good people do not
need laws to tell them to act responsibly….” (Plato)
